Our Mission

Star of the Sea Schools are a unique, loving Christian community of caring persons who enthusiastically strive to instill Christ-like values and academic excellence in a way that challenges ourselves, our students and our parents.

Our school is about people, with the rich ethnic backgrounds of those entrusted in our care, we strive to bring out the uniqueness and potential of each child.

We see the parents as the primary educators. As parents work to develop their child holistically (spiritually, academically, psychologically, physically and culturally) we, as educators, are here to reinforce what has begun in the home.

We are dedicated to guiding our students to form a thinking conscience and to learn to make sound decisions so that they may be responsible adults of tomorrow.

Because Star of the Sea Catholic Schools exists for people, it is our desire to lead each other, and our students and parents to exude real love and respect for each individual. Each person has been gifted by God with life, and in turn shares personal gifts with others.

Our Philosophy

Star of the Sea School exists as part of a thriving faith community over 100 years old. Under the advocacy of Mary, our patroness, we guide families who trust their children's education to our care.

Inspired by the educational tradition of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, we meet students where they are, in order to lead them on the path toward Christ.

As dedicated educators, we realized that parents are the primary educators of their children. In choosing Star of the Sea Schools, those parents show us the commitment they have. In turn, we pledge ourselves to work with parents to prepare their children to become responsible, contributing members of the community.

We see effective education as stewardship. As gifted individuals we share the knowledge and resources available in order to make the world a better place. Through our academic curriculum we strive to call forth the very best each student has to offer. Our students’ gifts find affirmation through our holistic educational program that addresses religious, intellectual, social, aesthetic, emotional, and physical needs.
